Finnish Information Processing Association (FIPA – TTL)
Conexio has been FIPA’s partner in communication since early 2007. The association targeted to promote impartial discussion about decisions concerning information technology in order to ensure technology as a cornerstone of Finland’s international competitiveness. Furthermore, the association wanted to increase their visibility and expand the number of members. Conexio composes an annual communication strategy with the board of FIPA and implements it together with the personnel of FIPA.
Conexio helps FIPA to find the messages and audiences that best serve to achieve the set targets, and to activate and support FIPA members to participate in public discussion, e.g. in print and seminars. Furthermore, Conexio is in charge for the “Tietoliite” newsletter for all FIPA members. Together with the IT magazine Tietoviikko, Conexio is also in charge of making and publishing an annual survey concerning the role of information technology as a factor of competitive edge from the viewpoint of company and IT management. We have produced a frequent flow of byliners and opinion pieces for FIPA, based on continuous follow-up of public discussion in the industry.
During spring 2008, Conexio and Parliament Information Office organized jointly the launch of FIPA’s book envisioning the threats and possibilities of information society. We have also produced a series of articles under the theme “How information technology changes the world”. The target is to show how information technology can change the market, practices or competitive situation of an entire industry.
Due to the active communication, FIPA’s visibility in the media has ten-folded and the decrease in the memberships ended. Robert Serén, Director of FIPA, was selected a Finnish information technology influencer in 2009.
